UCD is committed to developing and providing high quality educational experiences that will engage
and challenge our students to prepare them to play a role as active and responsible global citizens.
The democratisation of technology via low cost access to hardware presents opportunities for
extending and enhancing UCD’s education programmes through the appropriate application of these
technologies for both in-person and online learning.
The UCD Innovation Academy has already developed a range of online modules on Creativity and
Innovation, we also have an extensive range of hardware (virtual reality headsets, video cameras,
EEG headsets, drones, 3D printers, maker space and electronics kits), as well as software resources.
We now wish to integrate these appropriately throughout our curriculum to build the creative
confidence of our students with new technologies and to enhance their overall learning outcomes.
We are now seeking to appoint an innovative and engaging educational technologist to join the UCD
Innovation Academy. The post holder will drive in-person and online curriculum and resource
development, creating innovative applications for existing technology and integrating new
technology to best effect as it becomes available. The successful candidate will work collaboratively
with staff to design and implement a range of educational resources and creative challenges. She/he
will provide pedagogic advice, guidance and support on the use of technology in education and lead
the development of projects in the area. She/he will also provide technological assistance as
requested to support the unit as a whole.
This is a great opportunity for an individual who has a passion for education, enjoys collegial, fast
moving and innovative environments, and is solution focused. The post requires a creative and
technically knowledgeable professional who will assist in creating high-quality and engaging learning
resources through the appropriate application of technology.
