Dr. Syahira Hamidon previously headed the Entrepreneurship Unit at the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) after obtaining her PhD on “The Development of Malay Entrepreneurship in Malaysia” (now a book) at Massey University in Auckland. Amongst her many accomplishments are: developing Entrepreneurship Education to be part of the Higher Education Strategic Plan, introducing a Policy on Entrepreneurship Education and Development, and the Entrepreneurship Strategic Plan for universities, polytechnics and community colleges, and coordinating programs on entrepreneurship. She has also been involved in many other policy discussions and formulation, including education reform, graduate employability, youth entrepreneurship, SME development, and inputs for National Budgets, National Plans, and the Entrepreneurial Nation. She was one of the lead authors for the Malaysia Higher Education Blueprint 2015-2025.
