VOTE FOR MUSHROOM CITY!
04/07/13
Did you know that 100s of kilos of coffee grounds are wasted every week in Ireland?
Did you know that used coffee grounds are fantastic for growing mushrooms?

Dublin Urban Farm challenged one team of Springboard students in the May class to come up with a product solution to this food waste. Their solution was to collect the used coffee grounds from cafes – using a cargo bicycle, naturally, and package them for sale as “Home Grow Packs” that produce mushrooms for you within just 14 days. Green and tasty! ๐Ÿ˜€

Now Dublin Urban Farm have entered their fantastic ‘Mushroom City’ project into the competition for funding to get this project off the ground.

Innovation win! And now for the REALLY exciting bit…Dublin Urban Farm has entered this “Mushroom City” project into a competition, the Arthur Guinness Projects, for funding to get it off the ground. They need some votes to get through to the next round. You can vote once a day between now and 23rd August 2013.

So… GET VOTING FOR MUSHROOM CITY NOW! ๐Ÿ™‚
