    Surabhi Agarwal
    Computer Science Fellow

    Surabhi has always been interested in visual arts and photography ever since she was a child and she considers herself as a technology enthusiast pursuing computer science as a stage 1 student. The idea of 3-D printers and virtual reality really made her keen to apply for the creativity and technology fellowship. Being an entrepreneurial thinker, she considers herself to have a background of prototyping and ideating having worked with a logistics firm earlier. Hence, brainstorming the ideas of smart cities and various topics interest her and make her questioning and challenge herself.

    Eoinlee Bley
    Mechanical Engineering Fellow

    An undergraduate student of mechanical engineering, Eoinlee joined the Innovation Academy as a Tech and Creativity Fellow. He received the All Ireland Scholarship for academics and is currently a Robotics Officer for ElecSoc. His many, often unrelated interests include 3D printing, SCUBA diving, electronics, photography, and origami.

    James Carron
    Electrical Engineering Felllow

    James is more than just an Engineer by study. At 12 years old he won his first Engineering award going on to win three more All Ireland Engineering & Design Awards before the age of 18. A passionate speaker he has given several “NowTech” emerging technology lectures to Undergrad and Postgrad modules. James’ current focus is on the practical implementation of emerging technologies in new area’s such as Art and Industry 4.0.

    Aine Collier
    Mechanical Engineering Fellow

    Áine is a 3rd year mechanical engineering student in UCD. She has taken on the Innovation Academy fellowship asn she loves challenges and is eager to get into the world of design. Áine has gained experience over the years, having worked with ESB Networks for two years and has taken on many design challenges with companies like Diona, Deloitte and Mastercard. She is a recipient of the All Ireland Scholarship 2015. Áine loves to create and has recently received the Irish dance ensemble scholarship in UCD where they intend to create a new form of Irish dance.

    Rachel Duggan
    Neuroscience Fellow

    Rachel Duggan is currently a third-year class representative within the BSc Neuroscience Programme. As a winning applicant for the UCD SPARC campaign, she will learn how to effectively use the video making equipment within the academy to make an educational online cooking tutorial for college students. Furthermore, as a learning neuroscientist, she would like to evaluate how successful it would be to teach a person to play a melody simultaneously with a musician, through the electrical transfer of the musician’s neuronal impulses.

    Conor Foy
    Mathematical, Physical & Geological Sciences Fellow

    Conor is a 3rd year physics undergraduate, who has completed an internship in Intel and a research project with the UCD School of Physics. He is a DIYer with a particular interest for electronics and computer programming projects. He had the opportunity to showcase one such project and represented Ireland at the International Science and Engineering Fair in 2014.

    Catherine Galvin
    Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering Fellow

    Catherine Galvin is a 4th year Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering student. She has been mad into problem-solving and all things tech since she was 16, where she worked for a tech repair company. Upon entering university, Intel selected her to be one of their Women in Technology Scholars. Catherine’s love for getting stuck into a problem with a great team around her led her to be a part of numerous Hackathons including EUXCEL, CM Hack and the MasterCard Ideathon. In her personal time, Catherine loves going for a pint with the lads and spends her evenings either on the pitch or at the gym.

    Joshua King
    Computer Science Fellow

    Josh is a Computer Science student with a love for anything technology, science, futurism and music. In the past, Josh was the founder and captain of a team which competed in the US Air Force CyberPatriot competition, and has worked on research into alternative and mesh based network systems. Josh’s current focus is on web based applications of VR, IT security, and network optimization.

    Pavan Kulhalli
    Computer Science Fellow

    After graduating in 2012 with a degree in Computer Science from the University of Pune, Pavan spent four successful years in the Indian tech industry as an iOS developer, winning company accolades before moving to Ireland for his master’s. His interests in tech include augmented reality and virtual reality. His interests outside of tech include stage plays and film making, having worked as a production manager on a thirty-minute film raising awareness on corruption in India. He has also dabbled in video editing.

    Amoreena Mann
    English with Drama Fellow

    Amoreena is a graduate of Stella Adler-Los Angeles Academy of Acting. Following her graduation she worked in the film and theatre industries in both technical and performance capacities. She also worked alongside the Screen Director’s Guild of Ireland as the marketing coordinator and then the VIP manager of Digital Biscuit, an international film and technology event. She is incredibly interested in the different forms of empathy and hopes to pursue a career in drama therapy. Her other interests include jungian psychoanalysis, meditation, virtual reality and visual arts.

    Orla O Connor
    Arts, Sociology & Politics Fellow

    Helping others has always been one of Orla’s passions and this led her to the study of Politics and Sociology. Her empathy for people and interest in social interaction on all scales are her main motivations. Through the Introduction to Creative Thinking module offered by the Innovation Academy she has now found a new platform to channel her energies to help people. It has also sparked a nascent but true interest in technology. Having embraced the entrepreneurial mindset and enjoying working with people from all backgrounds Orla is now focusing on using technology to better people’s lives. Her other interest include basketball, skiing and naps.

    Akindele Oguntebi
    Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering Fellow

    I’m a third-year student doing a Major in Chemical and Bioprocess engineering and a minor in biochemistry. I have always been very much interested in Chemistry, technical analysis and problem-solving in a competitive sense from an early age. I’m currently very much interested in virtual reality, its current and future applications. I took the UCD Innovation Academy module Entrepreneurial Endeavour in 2017 and Creative Thinking in 2016. I was part of the winning team in the Deloitte Science Day competition in 2017 and came up with a problem and solution that won the UCD Innovation Academy Mental Health competition in 2017.
